Silicon Valley Academy was established in 1996 with the efforts of San Francisco Bay area professionals involved with the Muslim community.  Soon after, Br. Mazhar Jamil and Sr. Mariam Jamil moved the school forward with hard work and personal dedication.  During this time, we saw an introduction of the GLAD teaching model and a core priority on a safe, caring learning environment. We also developed a unique academic program that values the assimilation of core Islamic values. By our 12th year anniversary, SVA has flourished with Pre-K through High School programs. We have a received national recognition as having a program model of ‘Academic Excellence’ and ‘Exemplary Program Model’. SVA staff has trained thousands of public and private school teachers locally and across the country. Currently, our SVA program and staff continue to take part in several research projects being conducted through different Universities. Our first graduates have gone on to become honors students at colleges and universities. We serve a very diverse student population with twenty-seven different countries represented and seventeen languages spoken by our students. We are excited about the growth in our programs and look forward to sharing our successes with a broader parent population and with the greater community.
